Ok, so the trick is not to try to balance lots of individual spots with strange colors, but to use image based lighting. It's not perfect, but the feel is much better. It could actually be a sunny day.

Oh, and for the person who asked about the skin texture. If you just load the character it comes flat-textured, but there are MAT files under the Pose tab that load default skin textures. That's the one you want, and the nipples should magically appear.
