I just randomly came upon the article while coasting the net, i dunno its validity but the site seemed to have every case regarding anime, lolicon and trials for those who got arrested for it lol. Sum1 said to me that it all was considered gray area for the law but I highly suspect he might have been wrong

I think the only reason why they are arresting people for loli stuff is because there is a high chance that they also have the real thing. It's also said that it only adds to the psychology that they want the real thing.
What they don't understand is that it only applies to certain people, where-as I've seen the real thing, I report the real thing, I don't care for the real thing. I keep it strictly anime anyway... but I doubt that'll get through the court system if I'm ever caught. >.>
Yes, that's how corrupt our government is, because they don't understand that its not real, and the same goes for parents too.

Well, just be glad Anime is still here at the moment... Some news networks are probably still trying to get anime banned in the US entirely. Friend of mine told me that CNN/CBS actually nearly got away with banning anime back in the '70's and were nearly successful.
So, it's only a matter of time before it really does happen and there will no longer be anime in the US. Anime itself has never had good standing anyway because the parents and government can't get it through their thick heads that anime is not real, never will be, and that the Japanese do some amazing work compared to some of the US crap that gets posted here.
FCC here is just too damn strict and needs to lighten up, maybe then anime won't get such heavy censorship (besides those released directly to DVD) and that companies won't ruin anime as a whole due to heavy editing.

Heh, that would SUCK royally if anime was totally banned. There would go a good chunk of revenue for stores and such that sell it.......
